Students and teachers from Sul Ross Elementary School’s EXPLORE Academy presented Read by 3rd representative Daniel Hernandez with a check for $518.20 recently. The students earned the money from sales from a lemonade stand during Lemonade Day. Read by 3rd was the group’s financial investor and a business partner for the lemonade stand. The students implemented entrepreneurial ideas, learned skills in marketing and sales and fostered relationships while making a profit. The Read by 3rd program provides skills and resources to parents to help their children learn to read.
